Default Hi from Piper Knife Cape Town

Hi. My name is Erik Petermann, I teach Piper Knife here in Cape Town, South Africa. I have done quite a bit of Zulu stickfighting and, in terms of FMA, have attended seminars by Abner Pasa, Tom Sotis, brought my good friend Alfred Plath down here to teach etc etc. Been a student of the martial arts for forty of my fifty years.
Happy to answer any questions or get into any discusion, as long as it's polite and aimed at furthering growth and understanding. One can never learn enough. If you want to know more, you can google me, since this is a hello message, not a marketing drive...smile.

    Welcome to the group Erik,

How is Nigel and the rest of the piper guys? I had a brief exposure to piper and south african knife training through an acquaintance of mine in Michigan and a couple of my friends practice it as well as having talked to Nigel and the rest of the group on the old piper website forum.

    Hi Bill
Nice to hear from you. Nigel is well, happily married these days, Lloyd is still in Dubai. Cape Town is gearing up for the 2010 World Cup. It's going to be like a sardine run. Sharks (criminals) from all over Africa will be coming in for that month.
Guam? I thought I was at the "you-know-what" of the world...just kidding. All the best!

    Erik,
I might not be at the "you-know-what" of the world, but you can sure see it from here.. We have the crack of the " you know what" close to us here, problem is the bottom of the crack doesn't allow us to clean it very often due to the depth.. So we are just a piece of the matter that gets hung in the hair.

Welcome! I'd be interested to hear more on Zulu stickfighting. Is there more covered than the dueling aspect one sees on occasion?
