How do I get news in advance for upcoming events in my area (Chicago northern burbs)?

I meant FMA events in general. Are there any other organizations here other than WEKAF?

The Arnold Classic, Battle of Columbus and other full contact kali competitions are run by Columbus Kickboxing and Arnis out of Columbus, Ohio. The turnout for these events are very good. You should go check them out.

World Stick Fighting Championships which will be held July 16th through July 20th, 2012, at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"DUEL IN THE DESERT" is WEKAF USA, World Tournament. It sounded from the letter from the Board of Directors of WEKAF USA they are leaving WEKAF and forming their own organization and World Tournament taking along other WEKAF Countries.

My questions is, since there have been regional and national tournaments to qualify for the World Tournament in Cebu and now that WEKAF USA has establish there own World Tournament. Can anyone go an compete or do the competitor needs to qualify?

I just spoke with GM Sipin last night, it sounds like you have to have qualified already through the regional and national tournaments that have already taken place. However there is a new league forming called the "Global Blade and Stick Alliance" that will be on Friday, this is an open event and anyone can pre-register and compete.

GM Sipin will be on the the next FMATalk live this Sunday, April 15th at 8pm cst. If anyone would like to speak with him directly this would be your chance to call in and ask these types of questions!
