Study: Capable kids their own best abduction defense - The Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_16002176#ixzz0yoUKOAQJ)

Looking at nearly 3,500 cases, more than 30 percent of children who escaped kicked and screamed; 53 percent ran or otherwise fled the scene.

"The child should do whatever is necessary to stay out of the car because once the child is in that car, it dramatically reduces the chances of escape," Allen said.

one of the first things I tell students is to run and yell if they fell they are in danger. If nothing else it may draw attention to them and their attacker so someone can identify the attacker afterwards.
