Does anyone know of any schools in the Boston area, or just South of Boston??? I have studied a little bit before and am looking to get back into it. It doesn't even need to be a school, just a group of people that practice in the area would be great.
Thanks for your help,
Bobby

Don't know about Modern Arnis in the Boston area - but Wes Tasker teaches Pekiti Tirsia Kali and several forms of Silat. You can reach him at the following email:

There's Modern Arnis in New Bedford and in Western Mass., but I don't know of anyone who is actually in Boston. If you have a local training partner, perhaps you could commute to one of those schools once/week or once/month and practice in between?
It's odd that such a large city doesn't seem to have anyone. There must be a practitioner there--but someone who doesn't teach, perhaps. I checked the web pages of the WMAA, MARPPIO, and both IMAFs, and don't see anything.

I saw Wes at Tuhon McGrath's Pekiti Tirsia Kali camp this weekend and he told me that his friend Michael Williams teaches Modern Arnis at the Martial Arts Research Institute in Boston:

Both Michael and his wife May are outstanding martial artists and very nice people. Worth a look at.

Martial Arts Research Institute is up here on the North Shore in Salem, MA if that works for you. I haven't yet visited them myself.
I've trained a little under Frank Shekosky at CT Modern Arnis Jujitsu (Hartford area). It's a long drive, but Sensei Frank is a fantastic instructor.
Please drop me a PM if you are interested in training sometime.
Take Care,
Carol
