We don't have any Albo Kali Silat instructors in that area. Someone on this forum might know of a silat, kali, escrima, or arnis instructor that they could recommend to you. How about it guys and gals---can anyone help out Jstark?

I don't know of any Silat instructors in Arkansas at all. But I've got a friend in Littlerock who teaches a blend of American Kenpo Karate and JKD-Kali.
He's been in the martial arts a very long time and has a long history in the military and law enforcement. If you're interested, let me know and I'll try to get you in touch with him. His name is "Frank Garza", and he's a very good man.

That would be great. I would like to look into some different styles so i can choose one that fits me. I just like the fluid movements i the videos i have seen. One of the NCO's in my unit told me he took kali silot for a short period of time and told me something about the 12 different knife strikes and that there were 3 reactions to each knife strike. Is that right?? I really dont know anything about any style except for bjj or gracie.

Mr. Frank Garza has posted a few times on Kenpo Talk. At least from interacting with him online, I'd have to agree. He is a very good man. Very knowledgeable, and he seems to have many years of experience behind him.

Maybe the poster meant Greg Alland's Kali Silat:

JStark, this is Frank Garza. I relocated to Little Rock from Dallas about 2.5 years ago. I teach a base of Kenpo karate and then add the Escrima/Silat/Kuntao once I think a student is ready for it. In fact I just got back from spending a couple of days in Colorado training with Bob Orlando. Email me at kenpomaniac@gmail.com if you want to about this some more.
