Police said an Indianapolis Colts fan bashed Robert Formola, 30, Staten Island, N.Y., on the side of the head with a piece of wood after the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
The blow cracked Formola's skull and bruised his temporal lobe. He was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital and underwent emergency surgery Sunday. Formola was released Thursday with a plate in his head and 30 stitches, his sister and the hospital said.
