Possible tryst ended in fatal Geist robbery (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2010100106011)

A fatal robbery inside a Geist home began with a stranger's offer to arrange a tryst with an escort, according to charging documents filed Tuesday in Marion Superior Court.
[...]
Pence, 49, who was vision impaired, suffered blunt-force injuries to his head, according to a pathologist, possibly delivered with a cast-iron skillet.
[...]
A probable cause affidavit prepared by police says Pence and a friend met Hicks at Weebles Bar & Grill on Shadeland Avenue two nights before Pence's body was found. Hicks offered to help when Pence said he "wanted a girl," the affidavit says.

Soon, they were headed to Pence's home. Hicks contacted an escort, Malissa Sims, 39, who met them there with two teenage girls, who remained in her car.

Sims told police she was dancing for Pence when Hicks -- who portrayed himself as Pence's nephew -- hit Pence over the head.

Echoing what's on another thread...self-defense is much more than the martial arts, to my mind. I feel badly for a vision-impaired man who was killed in an apparent set-up, but if a complete stranger offers to procure women for you...you should be suspicious. This is a case where common sense trumps martial arts, having a gun on you, etc.
