Hmmm, the Contradas remind me of some Kombatan material I've seen!

Well, the description of Kombatan does state: "Kombatan is a composite of various classical and modern fighting systems used in the Philippines."

But even before this, it was not unusual to see some similarity in drills and techniques from the Visayan region.

I have a theory that a lot of cross training went on between FMA systems during the late 1890's among members of the Katapunan society that fought the Spanish.
