For the Tattoo lover in you...check out this link!

These guys have been actively involved in the preservation and promotion of Tribal tattoos. From history and methods to designing for present day ink fans. The Tribe speaks and exhibits works from past & present all over the U.S. The history of the warriors of the Philippine tribes such as the Kalingas, Igorots etc. is very intriguing. In corresponding with these guys, I also recently found out that several of the Members or affiliates to their group practice Eskrima.

It is a great thing that they are doing and their overwhelming pride as a Filipino is one I can mutually share.

Thanks for the link. I've been trying to get ideas for a Filipino Tribal tat. I like some of the shirts they have under "merchandise" also.

These guys are well researched and educated on the tribal arts and warriors. Their current ties are with relatives of the Canetes so Doce Pares seems to be a practice. They will be at the upcoming Filipino Festival to take place on September 9-10 in LA.

Even if you are not into tattoos, the history behind those warriors (Kalingas, Igorots etc.) are intriguing and goes beyond simple hierarchy. I am certain the ink on their bodies are much more symbolic and possibly associated to their martial practices.
