Hello all!

I was just wondering, if you follow the PTI system, what techniques are covered in the Yakan single stick?

-Basic strikes: 1-5 (broken, fluid and circular (goes only for 1-4?). Do you also do reverses of these?)
-Half beat (counters and recounters)
-"1-2-tap" and "1-tap-2" (don't really know what to call these, two attacks against the opponents one attack)
-Drill "hi-low-hi" + "tap" and "grab and release" variation
-Drill to "counter" strikes 1-4 with strikes 1-4 eg, opponent comes at you with 1-4 and you "counter" with 1-4, 2-1-3-4 etc.
-Takedowns?
-Locks?
-Disarms?
-Punyo?

Oh these questions :)

One final question, if I join PTI today, when do I need to renew the membership fee?

I am finding the system very interesting, and I hope I have the possibility to attend the Tuhon's seminar next seminar in Finland or Germany.

Hi Alex,

The Y-2 DVD sold on the PTI website is the same 5 Attacks Subsystem I taught in Germany, Finland, Italy, etc. It covers broken, fluid and circular diagonal strikes: in both forward and reverse. The reason I call it the 5 attacks (rather than 4 attacks) subsystem is because anything that is not a diagonal strike becomes your 5th attack (or X factor, as I call it). So a takedown can equal X, as can a punyo or a thrust. Although the DVD focuses on the exploring variations in timing for the four diagonal strikes, the techniques you mention above are shown in the 5 Attacks subsystem as samples of what you can do in X factor.

To answer your other question, if you join PTI today, your membership will need to be renewed one year from today.

Regards,
Tuhon Bill McGrath
