Shihan Louelle Lledo is one of the Philippines Highest ranking Goju Ryu Karate practitioners and an instructor under GM Inocencio Glaraga of Kalaki Arkanis. He is now residing in New Jersey. I have to contact with him since I left the Philippines. But I know him personally. Shihan was one of the instructors for the law enforcement agency of NBI (Philippines FBI counterpart).

I was at a dinner last night and there was an announcement that the Shihan was appointed the US national rep for the IMAFP. I thought Jay DeLeon had that position?

Mr. Louelle Lledo is an icon in Philippine Karate, particularly with the Goju Ryu group there. He was before an active teacher in a university and also in National Bureau of Investigations for many years. And he learned FMA thru Sioc Glaraga and influenced by Modern Arnis thru Joel Anajao and Mark Santos (his nephew). He was recognized as Modern Arnis practitioner by the late Father of Modern Arnis during the latters visit in RP.

Master Lou Lledo was was promoted by GM Remy in the Philippines to Lakan Lima (5th Degree) in 1973. He helped establish the College level Modern Arnis PE curriculum with Professor Armando Soteco (7th degree), who was also a direct student of GM Remy. He was recently appointed to the position of New Jersey coordinator for IMAFP.

He grew up in Zamboanga, (Mindanao) and has trained in the art of Kuntawan Silat. He founded Zikdokan Amara Arkanis http://www.amara-arkanis.com/Home_Page.html

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 2nd FMAF gathering. He is an extremely knowledgable and humble master of Arnis, and I highly recommend training with him if you get the chance.

I had a chance to meet him by phone last weekend, he shares a common vision that some of us have on the West coast which is to promote FMA no matter what style. Yes to simply set up seminars that will feature the diversity of FMA. He had such a gathering I think it was the weekend of June 23 there on the East coast in New Jersey. A gentleman and scholar!

Hi again to all,
If I remeber well, Guro lou was the officiating referee in Mr Ric Dick and Mr Hartman fight in a NAFMA event last year or the other year in Philly. He was invited to handle that part on Stickfighting Category. He also was said to have succesfully conducted or help conduct a recent Tai Chi Farm event which featured several reknowned honorable Masters in the Tai Chi world and Masters from the FMA and it was last 7th an 8th of July. Such an active guy..
