Karate students come to aid of woman being beaten in Alexandria (http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/20090422/NEWS01/90422035)
A group of karate students had just completed a judo test at the studio on Jackson Street in Alexandria when they saw a sport utility vehicle quickly pull into the parking lot, running over the curb. Those inside the studio thought the vehicle was going to keep going through the window of the studio building, so they rushed outside, but the SUV bounced back.
Two of the black belt karate students – Brandon Wiley and Brian Neal – saw that inside the car a man was beating a woman so they jumped into action, said Clint DuPlechian, chief instructor and seventh-degree black belt.
They pulled the man out of the car and pinned him down until Alexandria Police could arrive.

“He was saying, ‘F you guys. I’ll kick your butts,’” DuPlechian said. “And the black belts were saying, ‘Hey, buddy, we’re not the ones who decided to beat our girlfriend in front of a karate school.’”
