The Royal Thai Army has a horse division called the Pack Squadron in Chiang Mai and I recently watched them practice spear and bow training on horseback. They also train with automatic weapons for combat, and the spear and bow is for hunting and also as a cultural and historical exhibition. I am going on a jungle trek on horseback with the squadron in June. I do not know how to send pictures on forum but you can see photos of the pack squadron if you look up thai army pack squadron on google.
