Regarding the emptyhand translation, LSAI has a generic emptyhand translation format which utilizes the movement of the stick. You can see this in the movement of other LSAI groups such as that of Guro Jerson (see youtube video "Lightning Scientific Combat Judo Variation"). Guro Jerson is not affiliated with the LESKAS of Maestro Elmer. Maestro Elmer however likes adding punches from his boxing background as well as elbows. As is the case in most FMA systems I think, Mang Ben lays the basic frame upon which the individual adds his uniqueness. Mang Ben usually ends his stuff with locks. We (MK) like doing lowline stomp kicks although we also do add trapping, takedowns and locks as well. Master Shaun has great youtube footage of LSAI emptyhand as well. You can see the similarities despite the differences.
