Police said two roommates began fighting over a parking space on Thursday night, and the dispute ended when one man bit off the other's earlobe. Officer Kevin Krebs said it appeared that the victim came home and parked in a spot preferred by his roommate, starting the fight.

I'm not sure what the self-defense lesson is here: Self-defense begins with picking a sane roommate, or always keep one hand up to defend your earlobe?

The driver of a car on the Southside was grazed in the head by a bullet after he made an obscene gesture to another driver Tuesday night, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police advise that's the wrong way to handle a road rage confrontation in traffic. "They don't think about other people as being people; they think about them as being cars," said Sgt. Matthew Mount, spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
