Hello,
My name is Joe I am a kyokushinkai stylist I have been studying martial arts for 41 years. "This is all true and I am not boasting because I am a humble martial artist". I was a student of doshinkai dojo Luzon Island in the Philippines under CRISPIN M. ASINAS JR. from 1964-1967 I was the first american awarded the shodan rank by MILITON C. GERONIMO June of 1967 I tested at his Dojo in the philippino air force base.
I was also told that I was the first american to reach the rank of blackbelt in the philippines.
I am interested in finding any imformation I can about my sensei of long ago sensei JR. Asinas, I lost contact with him many years ago.

Joe, I am also looking for Crispin M Asinas, Jr. He had instructed my current GM Gene Brigham. I am trying to find information about Crispin Asinas and his school Doshin Kai Karate Do. At this point in time, I don't know when Master Brigham had trained with Master Asinas. Maybe you have heard of Gene Brigham?

Hi Joe,,

Im Mike Boyett,, dont know if you remember me or not,, but came back to the Phil in the 70's after training Tang Soo Do in Korea. Left the Phil and came back later in the 80's,,but I think by then you were gone. I remember you well and how well you performed Kata. I remember the Doshinkai Dojo up on 1st St,, then later on it was down on McArthur Hiway, in the same bldg as the radio station..I trained a lot with Orlando Centeno and Rafael Reston in the 80's and taught at Reston Sensei Dojo for awhile..Where are you now?? Im in Florida. We just had a gashuku down here last month of all the old members of the Crosswinds Karate Dojo,, remember Marcy Umipeg??
