Has anyone had any experience with the Filipino blades produced by Cas Iberia, Kris Cutlery, or Cold Steel? Any that you would particularly recommend or really want to avoid? Consumers want to know!

Thanks,

Lamont

Lamont,

I have seen Kris Cutlery mentioned on here a great deal. Here are two threads I found with information about them:

Thread 1 (http://www.fmatalk.com/showthread.php?t=123&highlight=kris+cutlery)

Thread 2 (http://www.fmatalk.com/showthread.php?t=521&highlight=kris+cutlery)

Good luck! :)

In the pics of the Cas Iberia kampilan, hilt has been attached backwards.

I've been told by Yuli Romo that traditionally, the hilt was made of bone.

ah I see thanks for the info, it doesn't surprise me now that you mention it - being a a weapon that reflected status aswell as its obvious practical features ;)
