I'm so excited about this art I'm beside myself. :biggrinbo I have an excellent instructor who runs an awesome school and this makes such a difference when learning.
Modern Arnis, how I love thee:
I love that the moves are practical.
I love that the movements are fluid.
I love that for every move there is an open hand or weapon translation.
I love that weapons are taught right from the start.
I love that there is a check after every block.
I love how the art just seems to be natural movements.Does everyone feel this way? :D

Full agreement! The practicality and the translation between empty hand and various weapons are what really do it for me. I also like that you're encouraged to innovate from the beginning, rather than being expected to do things in a lock-step fashion, and that principles are emphasized so strongly.

Well one could say Love. ;)
One could also say Passion, or life style. :D
I will leave that for a philosophical thread for discusison on.
Glad you enjoy your new school and art.

Thanks for the congrats, fellas ! Some have said to me "it's about time, given that you're 41 !" :coolyello As for Arnisador's question, she really likes Modern Arnis and so I've been teaching her the basics. OH yeah baby!! On a more serious note, she appreciates my all consuming passion for Modern Arnis and FMA. In turn, I appreciate that !! :)
