Now that my ears have stopped bleeding from the zurna music... I'm curious what the nature of the dance is. It doesn't appear to be very "martial".

Its a folk dance, seen in some near-East Islamic countries. Its possible to see similar dances in the Baltics as well. Its sometimes even done in Greece...a relic of the Turkish domination.

It symbolizes a boy coming of age. ;)

I don't see alot of translation to the self defense arts in the videos, but thank you for the social aspect of the knife used in the cultures of the world.
