(This communication is going out to Escrima Arnis, Eskrima Digest, FMA Talk, the IPMAF general membership, and personal friends via blind copy.)

Subject: FMA Museum, HOF, and World Training Camp

This notice is for anyone and everyone wishing to join forces with Grandmaster Ernesto A. Presas, any group and every group wishing to join forces with the International Philippine Martial Arts Federation, in the following undertaking:

1. The creation of an FMA Museum in the best of all possible places!
2. The inauguration of a biennial FMA Hall of Fame!
3. The 10th IPMAF World Arnis Congress, Training Camp and Tournament!

The Philippines will be the place to be in the Spring of 2007 because the target date for all of the above is April 2007. We’ve got one (1) year to make all this happen! And it WILL happen. Just let me think about it for a little while... (smile)

I will be posting again within the week with more details. In the meantime, if you’d like to play a part in the making of FMA history, please let me know of your interest by emailing me (alex.france@kp.org) or dropping by in person at:

Can you tell us more about the FMA Museum? WHat is the scale? What will it feature?

Good morning Tim(?) and Pat

Thank you for your interest. Here is my initial reply to your requests for more info.

Physical scale: I heard that the foundation for the actual museum has already been laid down, so I called the Philippines last night to find out the location and actual floor space for the museum. I tried three different numbers (mobile, home, & gym) but was unsuccessful (I usually get through). I imagine we can start small and as the museum grows, move it to a larger location or add to the existing structure.

Project Scale: For the Museum, this is what I would want in it (the HOF, I'll leave to the grandmasters!): Authentic examples of Philippine weaponry and armor. Actual photographs of FMA legends and historical events. Any personal items that Grandmasters may want to contribute for their or their teacher's display. And especially this: As visitors go from one spot to another, they would be able to press a button and view short video clips pertaining to the display!

I will keep FMA Talk in the loop as things develop!
