with all do respect different FMAs has ther own beginings as I know the oldest form of simelar to thai boxing the nearest is Yawyan which was developed by master nap fernandez. but since where talking about history ther a hsitory part stating that in the phils. in the times before 1900s' muay thai is already existed in the phils. maybe some filipinos had studied the art and devt. there own system since FMA is based in family system back on those days due to colonial reasons. anyone found out practicing martial arts are executed. I'm happy that FMA survived all those colonial time up to now. eskrima was believed to survied that era because they incorporated it with prayers and dances to hide the art.
