Thanks guys:o. Eric, I thought you were still strapped to a grinding machine in your shop or something, slaving away making custom knives. Taka must have left the key near your handcuffs again. Get back to work--you have karambits to make :).

They run about $150 and theres currently only one prototype in existence so far, but I am thinking I may make a bunch more...what does the Jon man think??

Eric,
I have to say that this particular model is going to be very special purpose, hard to deploy quickly (unless already on your finger) compared to many other blades, and a bit pricey. All that said, I really like it. It is just one of those blades I look at and think, "This is really a neat idea, great execution. How am I going to use this? Who cares--I'm buying it. Something this far out there needs to be in my collection." Besides, "Tiger" hand motions in Silat with this little blade on the finger could be ugly indeed:EvilGrin:.
Considering the grind time and preparation work that is going into making a curved beastie like this by hand, I see full justification in the price, especially considering the current price of high quality stainless steels. This must be a bear to make. What premium steel are you using on this one? I know you use mostly S30V, but have seen you experiment and play with others. After I finish my move to Ohio (I am in the middle of it now and there are boxes everywhere), I may talk to you about one of these to add to the collection. A very unusual and interesting piece.

Thanx for the kind words Jon. :) Youre right bro. It can be hard to deploy, but in your hands/i.e. the hands of a true pro...it could be one cool implement. I would love to talk more with you about the Tiger hand motions you spoke of and see if we cant adjust a few things to fit that better.
Ya bro, whenever youre ready. Yes, S30V is the steel of choice. :) You are smart to notice how difficult this can be to pull of correctly. I am considering wielding a bar across the lower part, so you can close your hand around it and have a fist load with this one sticking out of your fingers. You can close it with this on anyways, I just think a bar across the bottom might brace cutting a bit better. :)
You still have my number? Call me bro and we'll talk about them Tiger hand motions after you get moved.

Yeah, I liked it, too. Was thinking about how it fits on the second finger in the pictures and how it might be more maneuverable if it was on the first finger. With just a flick, you could flip the blade around to the back side of the hand and use it that way. So, a punch coming in might miss, but the hook on the way out could do some damage. :)
