Has anyone ever seen this knife before and can it really be used on a bayonet? It is said that it can fit together with a AK47 rifle. Maybe it is a copy of some old military knife that was used back in one of the wars? The website that it is on is www.lducompany.com (http://www.lducompany.com) I am wondering if it can fit on any other types of guns or rifles. Does it look like something that would be used by Chinese, Koreans, or Russians. Here is a link to the knives page http://www.liangdianup.com/knives_1.htm and it is the knife with the number 406023 right at the top of the page.Any help would be appreciated before I order it all the way from China :)

Hi,
none of the 3 or 4 AK 47 bayonets on this hp looks like the bayonet I own.
I got it from the NVA (Nationale Volks Armee = National People Army, German Democratic Republik), after the wall felt.
A typical NVA bayonet looked like the one below. So I think all AK 47 bayonets are the same.

Hey there fellow firearms fan,
From the pictures on the website, it may not be the most common bayonet for an ak47, but it does look like what's called a "first model" ak47 bayonet, and should fit any ak47 just fine. Usually it's just the furniture on an ak47 that is not necessarily universal.
Respectfully,

I am not a collector of bayonets. I am currently in the process of packing up all my gear to move to a new residence (and a new state) and can conclusively say that the only bayonet that I have in my collection at this point is a Korean War vintage blade for the M1 rifle. I know a bit about the Kalashnikov series of weapons, but really not that much from personal use and experience, due to the fact that I have mainly used Remington, Heckler and Koch, or Colt shoulder weapons in my law enforcement career and my personal collection of long guns is comprised of non-Russian designed "tactical" arms (an Italian shotgun, some American rifles), some precision varmint or long range rifles, a few shotguns and rifles that filled various hunting niches (back when I hunted), the odd historical item (a couple of old Winchesters and the like--one dating back to 1887), and other odds and ends.
With all that said, if I recall correctly, there will be several "AK" or Automat Kalashnikov, bayonet variations, some of which have already been discussed. Since the original "AK" evolved into the modified "AKM" (both in 7.62 x 39mm), and then the "AK74" (in 5.45 x 39mm caliber), and the various variants of each have been produced in massive numbers, without even going into the Chinese Type 56 "AK variant" and various rifles of former Soviet satellite nations which resemble the AK or are basically clones of the AK, there should be a good number of variations in regard to bayonets. Just as many vendors advertize and sell a Chinese semi-auto only version of the Type 56 as an "AK47" when the "AK47" title should only really apply to the original series of select-fire weapons, there are going to be many bayonets that fit "AK type or similar" rifles which will be labeled and sold as "AK47" bayonets. I would bet that someone could have a pretty tidy knife collection consisting only of different bayonets that fit various AK and Chinese and "satellite" rifles.
