This is an online article that I subscribe to that I think will speak to a lot of the folks in these forums: http://www.usconcealedcarry.org/news/newsletter/are-you-bulletproof/

I think its interesting what it author says about CCW/CHL holders. One thing that the FMA does and does well is breed sheepdogs.

Mabuhay!

P.S. I couldn't think of a better entry for my 100th post!

Great article. The problem is that politicians need to get elected and many will say or do anything to get your vote.

I have heard him lecture at our Police Academy on 3 occassions and am always walking away wishing more people got his "message" about violence in this world. The needed mentality to deal with it and how the "powers that be" need to get their heads out of their asses and realize Violence is part of our daily lives. We in the Warrior Class are held to a disciplined violence but it is still violence. I would also reccomend seeing John GiDuck lecture twice about the Terrror at Belsan. These two men need more exposure. They come to Nothern V.A. quite a bit but I never hear them meeting with Senators or Congressmen? to discuss what they know.

Could you extrapolate a bit on John GiDuck and Belsan?

The powers that be,will they ever listen?

You have to cover your own a_ _,because the politicians will not.
This is not cynicism, but a fact.

are a reactive bunch. They will never do anything until after the fact. Nothing pro-active about them. I am thinking Columbine, 9/11, Beslan, USS Cole, DC shooters... the list goes on. They cannot (and I personally will not allow them to) do something before the fact. The rule of prior restraint is never good. No matter how quiet a theater will be and how no one will ever yell "fire" in a theater, it is never a good idea to gag the patrons before they go in to watch the film. :) They should allow us, the common folks, the power to defend ourselves and not prosecute us when we do. We should be allowed the God-given rights to defend our lands, our families and our rights of worship without fear of prosecution by some "king men" in office.

We were watching Star Wars last night and a neighborhood kid asked why they were shooting at each other... why was their war? I said, because there will always be bad people and good people have to defend themselves from the bad and their intentions. It's just the way things are: good cannot exists without evil and vice versa... there is opposition in all things.

In my job I see (sometimes on a daily basis) how good ordinary hard working people feel that if they exercise their right to defend themselves,it is they that will be prosecuted.
These are people that did no more than defend themselves or their property.
These ordinary folk, just want to be left alone.Alas, there is that small minority that thinks they can do whatever they want. How wrong they are.
