Given Grandmaster Albo's skill with weapons, did he carry a weapon on a regular basis?

Apohan Tuhan Albo had a couple of large gym bags stuffed full of bastons, training knives, etc. that he had in his vehicle. He had two training academies on opposite sides of El Paso, taught some private lessons, and also taught some Chinese arts in after school programs in various public schools in the area. He would transport the tools of his trade from school to school and thus had a multitude of potential weapons around him while in transit. Most often, when he I met him outside of training, he had a knife or two on him. I gave him quite a few knives as gifts and arranged some discounted purchases from a noted knife company or two for him as well. At various times on social occasions, I saw him carrying an Emerson Combat Karambit, a Spyderco Gunting, and a Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder. Often, the knives I gave him he kept as collectibles, because, as he put it, "I'm afraid I'm going to mess some of these up if I carry them." Aside from the few engraved or very collectible knives that I knew he had, I always encouraged him to carry the good stuff. That's why he bought it or why I gave it to him in the first place.

In addition to his training tools and personal knives, he was one of the best empty hand fighters that I have seen. He was also superbly gifted when it came to using everyday items as improvised or expedient weaponry. Lastly, he always believed in having some kind of surprise hidden somewhere. If you knew him well, you just knew that he had a "hideout" device or two on him.

Thanks for the insight in to Apohan Tuhan Albo and what weapons he used and carried. He obviously had a great appreciation for quality weapons.
