As a non-member of PTI one can purchase the following DVD's -

Pekiti Tirsia Overview - which contains a brief example from each category of techniques etc. as well as some demos.

Five Attacks Sub-System (now Quick Combat Course) - an introduction to single stick basics.

Double stick Warm-ups, Attacks, and Drills - demonstrates the 12 warm-ups (the "Dirty Dozen"), attack patterns and drills.

Empty Hand vs. Knife I - empty hand defense vs. a blade held in forward grip (tapping, third hand strikes, and blade reversals).

Tempering & Kickboxing - this has a basic intro to empty hand vs. empty hand and arm / leg conditioning drills.

As a member one can purchase the following without having attended the seminar and/or receiving instruction:

Abcedario - 12 sets of 12 single stick strikes and applications.

Abcedario de Mano - 12 sets of 12 empty hand strikes and applications.

After that, a person must receive instruction in a block of material in order to purchase a review video.

Just to follow-up on Wes' post:

The DVD's that Wes recommends reviews material that would take the average person about two years to learn, if he or she devoted the appropriate time and effort and received lessons from a qualified instructor in between practice sessions. They thus provide an excellent foundation for learning the Pekiti Tirsia Kali system.

Best,

Steve

Thank you Wes and lhommedieu, I ordered the Y5 series from Tuhon McGrath, have a few years in Inosanto escrima and some DBMA and I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this material.
Nice to see that Tuhon McGrath is putting this out there for those of us that don't have access to PTK.

No problem. You may want to look to Jay de Leon (PTGO) in Toronto or Jack LaTorre (PTI) in the Rochester area if you ever want some follow-up instruction.

Best,

Steve

I thought so, I didn't have time to double check last night. On Jeff Espinous' reccomendation, I trained with Guro Jun at an event in Ottawa several years ago. He's a very good instructor.

How's your training going?

Hi there,
Quite well actually, considring...
Got some instructional DVD's from Tuhon McGrath to introduce me to what I should expect from Pekiti-Tirsia, which blended in very well with my prior Inosanto Escrima.
I haven't had a chance to check out the Kalideleon school yet, work and life getting in the way, but I have continued to train with fellow MA in the area.
Its tricky balancing ones responsibilities to work and family with ones responsibilities to ourselves.
Of course there is also trying to maintain my current training while expanding on the weapons based part, of which FMA is just a part.

Ah, to have the ability to stop time...;)
