Hi guys!

I'm really interested in FMA, specialy Modern Arnis and PTI.
But i wann'a talk about PTI.

So I'm from Poland and there is no schools of Pekiti Tirsia Kali.
I try to learn the system mysealf.
My question is that can I find something in the internet, u know
buy a book, check the infos or something?
Or maby someone can help me starting from the basics ?
(I bought a book about modern arnis and i'm learning the system from it)

So "global" question is, that what the person must do who wann'a train and don't have an instructor ?

Thx and Greets!
PS : Sorry for mistakes in my english. ;)

It's hard, if not impossible, to learn a FMA from a book or video - particularly if you have no background. Here's what I would do if I were in your situation:

(1) Given that there are more similarities between many Filipino martial arts (FMA's) than there are differences, I would invest some time learning from a FMA school or club in Poland. Following is a URL that gives some addresses:

http://www.fmadigest.com/Database/schools/Europe/poland.htm

(2) Once you have been training for a while, join PTI and invest in the beginner series DVD's:

http://www.pekiti.com/videosmem_form.php

These will give you an introduction to the system, although they are no substitute for direct training with a teacher.

(3) Once you have the materials on the DVD's under your belt, find a Pekiti teacher in Europe to whom you can commute, if not regularly, than at least on a seminar to seminar basis. A google search for "Pekiti Europe" will pull up organizations that teach Pekiti Tirsia Kali. For example:

You have a lot of good advice above! The FMAs are more similar to one another than are, say, Karate styles. Try any oen of them!

Failing that, try seminars. I know there are many in Germany and Denmark and Sweden (http://www.wmarnis.com/wmaaevents.html) in Modern Arnis (my style). Dieter Knüttel (http://www.fmatalk.com/member.php?u=126) is in Germany and is a very senior Modern Arnis instructor and may well know of contacts nearer than you think!

Thanks, thanks and one more thanks. :)
U guys give me big advice.

U know it is good becouse i have familly in Philippines, so when i go to them i wann'a train in Manila.

Erlyer i train Capoeira so i have a hmmmm "basics" of the some martial arts.

I would invest some time learning from a FMA school or club in Poland. To bad that everything is so far away from my town.

For now i can do the 12 basic strikes in modern arnis, sinawali, abanico etc. and some advance techniques. I train with the knife (wooden) and some empty hands.
I watch the "tube" then i read about the technique and i try to do it my best.
But i mix some FMA systems together.

(2) Once you have been training for a while, join PTI and invest in the beginner series DVD's:

http://www.pekiti.com/videosmem_form.phpThis is good, I try to buy the instructions on the DVD.
