Yeah, my wife and I watched it as well and it was so cool. She normally doesn't like movies with any violence in it, but she found the movie quite fun and entertaining.

My favorite superheroes are Thor, Iron Man and Spiderman (in that order). Hopefully they make a movie of Thor.

I hope, Xmen Origins: Wolverine rocks.
It's got Hugh returning as wolvie, Liev Shreiber as Sabertooth, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, i think some guy from Friday Night Lights is playing Gambit (Remy Lebeau). Other characters include Agent Zero (formerly Maverick), Silver Fox, William Stryker, even The Blob. Its supposed to center around the Weapon X project. It better be good. Oh i almost forgot, it's got Scott Adkins (Das) from The Bourne Ultimatum as Weapon XI

Xmen Origins: Magneto is showing up on imdb as well.
"...A look at the early life of Eric Lensherr and his friendship with Charles Xavier, and how the one-time allies became mortal enemies..."

As you can tell, im an XMen freak. But i grew up with the FF, Thor, and Iron Man cartoons, as well. Hopefully Sunday, with my brother and his kids, we can go see Iron Man. If they do a Thor movie, it will probly be with the FF, but a movie in the Asgardian Realm would totally rock.

Pguinto,

I used to use all of my paperboy earnings to buy comics back in the 60s, who knew they would be worth so much now? I don't have a single one of them, oh well.

Thor Movie info:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4325.asp

Director Matthew Vaughn says "We're in a holding pattern at the moment. It's up to Marvel, they have to decide if they want to make the movie and then we take it from there."

If you like Thor you should check out (if you haven't already...) the new Thor series of comics written by J. Michael Straczynski. They are really good. They just released issues 1 - 6 as a hardcover. He did some good work with Spiderman and Dr. Strange (my favorite...) as well.

I've been getting those for my son and the have indeed been good! I hope the Thor movie goes through.

I have concerns about the new Hulk movie...he was always a favorite of mine--my favorite major character--and the previews have him looking too CGI. But the Abomination was a favorite villain of mine (though they're conflating his history with another character's here).

If you like JMS' writing, you should check out "Midnight Nation". Not a comic for the younger crowd, but it's really good.

So I take it you guys think Robert Downey did a good job.

I am really looking forward to seeing it.

Without wishing to delve too deep into the hearts and minds of us FMA practitioners,I guess we all can identify with Iron man.

I think this was the best superhero movie to date.
Robert Downey is Tony Stark. CGI was excellent.
My wife actually liked it, which is a minor miracle.

We even stayed past the credits, although I had to explain the significance of it to my wife and son.

Marvel mines more precious metal with `Iron Man 2' (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080505/ap_en_mo/film_iron_man2;_ylt=An02qQaCa8toAlJUj_V9k1hY24cA)

Marvel Studios announced Monday it will release "Iron Man 2" on April 30, 2010, following the success of the first in the comic-book franchise, which pulled in $104.2 million domestically since opening last Thursday and $201 million worldwide.

Four other films based on Marvel superheroes also were announced: "Thor," due out June 4, 2010; "The First Avenger: Captain America," May 6, 2011; "The Avengers," July 2011; and "Ant-Man," which is in development but has no release date.

Iron Man 2? Since we get a cameo of War Machine (those of us in the know, also dont worry im not spoiling the end credits surprise), what's the likelihood of War Machine's 1st official appearance? Will Tony Stark have an accident and become a brooding paraplegic thereby activating War Machine? Time will tell...

i could see a thor movie, a capt america movie, even an avengers movie (xmen proved that group-based movies can do well), but i definitely cant see an Ant Man movie.

They should do a Franklin Richards/Power Pack movie or better yet Franklin Richards in Days of Future Present, which would establish the connection btwn the XMen and the FF

I would definitely love to see an Age of Apocalypse movie once more heroes get reintroduced. An Xmen Onslaught movie might work, with the current state of Professor X's transference in XMen3. The Onslaught saga can tie the FF, the Avengers, and the Xmen along with the Hulk, Thor, Submariner, the Punisher, Elektra, Spiderman, etc etc etc

Looks like u r correct:

Director Jon Favreau has been very clear that Iron Man (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=394#) is the start of his trilogy - “I’ve got another 2 movies in my head; I’m ready to go.” All the stars are signed for Iron Man 2. So what direction is the sequel going to go in?
Iron Man’s main nemesis in the comics is Manderin, a descendent of Genghis Khan who wears ten alien rings, each with their own special ability. As long time fans will have noticed, Manderin’s presence is foreshadowed in the first film - the terrorists who kidnap Stark are called the ‘Ten Rings’. Favreau wants to see Manderin emerge from the shadows, but whether that’s for the 2nd or 3rd movie is unknown.
One character we will see in Iron Man 2 is War Machine. Not only does Rhodes look at the Iron Man outfit during the first film and say “Next time baby,” but actor Terrence Howard (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=394#) has stated - “In the next one they make a suit for me and I become War Machine.”
How does he end up in it? “The beautiful thing about Marvel,” Howard says “Is that they’ve always stuck with the tradition of staying truthful to the comics.” - In the comics, Tony Stark turned to alcoholism after a hostile takeover of Stark Enterprises, and Rhodes was forced to take his place in the Mark III suit. But, in the same way as would happen if you borrowed a friend’s underpants, Rhodes soon got headaches, started behaving erratically and eventually went on a rampage. A recovering Stark then donned a crude prototype suit to bring him down. Stark subsequently designed a heavier-armed version of the Iron Man suit for Rhodes, which became known as the War Machine armor.
So Tony Stark, it seems, is going to hit the booze. Here’s what Favreau had to say: “Once people accept Iron Man, we have a lot of latitude tonally as to what we can do. If you look at Dark Knight (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=394#), it’s very dark but people accept it, or Revenge of the Sith (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=394#), it’s very dark but people brought their kids. This first film is about teaching them who these characters are… The alcoholism, the Demon In A Bottle, it sort of feels a little like Spiderman 3 (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=394#).” Eek Spiderman 3.
And what about alien dragon Fing Fang Foom?
“I’m writing a comic book now with Adi Granov,” says Favreau “Where Fin Fang Foom is the bad guy. That’s what I want to see, but I don’t know if I want that in the movie right now. Eventually I’d love to get to the point where the movie could accept that and you could develop a reality where that could work.”
Expect that to be stuffed into Iron Man 4 once Favreau has gone, perhaps.

Iron Man Will Appear In The Incredible Hulk (http://www.movie-moron.com/?p=87)

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x89/edwardbayntun/news/IronManHulk.jpg
The Incredible Hulk will have a scene where General Thunderbolt Ross (the Hulk’s great pursuer and father of romantic interest Betty) meets with Tony Stark, out of costume. Why have the scene? It’s to lay the groundwork for The Avengers movie. The Avengers team usually consists of Ant-Man, Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk, and Captain America. In the ‘Ultimate Marvel Universe’ it was formed by Nick Fury. It is fluid though and so over the years the group has included humans, robots, gods, aliens, supernatural beings and even former villains who couldn’t make up their mind.

I will add the Avengers also had mutants in their roster; namely XMen's The Beast and Magneto's kids Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch

Howard Says Being Replaced Was 'Surprise of a Lifetime' (http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/terrencehoward_blog.html)

Many people were stunned by the news last week that Don Cheadle, and not Terrence Howard, would be playing the role of James "Rhodey" Rhodes in "Iron Man 2." None more so, apparently, than Terrence Howard himself.

Captain America Found in Marvel Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/captainamerica_blog.html)

But what escaped most viewers' notice were hints in both movies signaling the forthcoming appearance of another Marvel icon: Captain America. With "Iron Man" out on DVD now, and "The Incredible Hulk" hitting shelves next Tuesday, sharp-eyed fans can catch tiny glimpses of Cap if they know where to look.

Here's a French short piece on Iron Man 2 that includes several clips. At just shy of 5 minutes in, Robert Downey Jr. talks about him being a Kung Fu guy and Guy Ritchie being a jujutsu guy as they discuss bringing more martial arts to the film, esp. post-Sherlock Holmes and its use of bartitsu:

I watched this movie two weeks ago in the cinema and I was amazed. I was waiting for a less interesting (and more boring story) and too many special effects. ('cuz many companies think that they will make their film enjoyable by using millions of those effects) But the movie was great, the story was interesting and I was amazed. If you haven't seen it then go and watch it. Worth the money and the time. http://www.budoseek.net/vbulletin/images/smilies/smile.gif
