Saturday, March 15th, I was able to attend and participate in a seminar on Kaihewalu Ohana Lua with Olohe Solomon Kaihewalu with assistance from Kumu Lua Hans Ingebretsen.

Olohe Solomon and Kuma Lua Hans are excellent instructors presenting empty hand and weapon techniques. With zero experience in Lua, I found the history of the art and culture fascinating and educational.

If you have the opportunity to attend a seminar with Olohe Solomon or Kuma Lua Hans, do it! Mahalo, Olohe Solomon.

More information on Lua can be found here: http://www.olohe.com/

Thank you to Grandmaster Ed Bansuelo, W.O.R., for sponsoring Olohe Solomon's seminar.

Respectfully,

Olohe Solomon Kaihewalu is a great instructor and has a friendly way of explaining a dangerious art. I have not seen him in many many years but I was always impressed with his knowledge.

Sorry for the late reply, been offline...

That weapon is called "Maka Pâhoa" and can be found here:
http://www.olohe.com/weapons/maka-pahoa.html

This double edged (eye) dagger can be used for offense and defense and can be used 3 different ways to defend one's self: clubbing, trapping of the hands, and poking.
