PG Steven Dowd of Arnis Balite has always done a wonderful job with promoting FMA through his digest. He is a very open minded individual who only cares to share these great arts to the mainstream audience.
Oh...and the latest issue has some coverage on Bakbakan International's own long time Member Peachie as well as a submittal from Bakbakan Australia!
Mabuhay ang Bakbakan!
Sorry, I could not resisthttp://www.fmatalk.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Nice to see a plug for Steve Dowd’s magazine. I had the pleasure of guest-teaching at May William’s school this past summer; there is a profile of her at:

I also have an article in the Current Issue (Vol 3 No 1 January - March 2005):

There's some really good articles in the FMAdigest.
There is also misinformation, plagiarism, and well...other things.
It varies from contributer to contributer, read with a keen eye.
I aplaud their effort, but think they need an edititor to look out for these things.

Although I I agree, it is something very difficult to enforce since there are so many accounts, lineages etc. Unfortunately, it is not always the editor's position to question the legitimacy, validity or accuracy of articles that were submitted. After all, how can one know so much about so many things. Sometimes one has to rely on the contributor and the integrity of his writing.
I would love for everyone to call out all the B.S. that plagues FMA but it only leads to further animosity which we do not need. However, if you can support it, by all means...do it!

Wes Tasker and I have an article coming out in the next issue. I've emailed and talked to Steven Dowd several times over the past couple of weeks and found him to be an affable, enthusiastic supporter of the Filipino Martial Arts.
Best,
