What is Modern Arnis?

Modern Arnis is a martial art with its roots in the systems of the Philippines. It was developed by the late Grandmaster Remy A. Presas, and in its simplest definition covers open hand, knife, and stick techniques.


Where can I train?

There are many schools around the world that offer training. You can easily find a school in your area by checking the websites of the various Modern Arnis organizations.

I apologise I am unsure what year the photo was taken. It is just one that Master Rodel sent. In a guess i would say not that long prior to 2005...judging by master rodels hair.

With all the politics in the art nowadays it's heartening to see these individuals still standing together.

Yes and the work that they have done for the Philippine Council and the World Kali Sports competitions is in my opinion phenomenal. They have so far organised two fantastic world championship events in Manila despite GM Rolands ill health! Truly inspirational people!
