Knife and whip expert John Bailey will appear at 10 a.m. Sunday during a “Round-up” in Good Shepherd Baptist Church at 1200 E. Davis Drive.

Bailey performs knife, whip and ax demonstrations.

He is a Guinness Book of World Records record holder and the 2007 world champion for “quick-draw” knife throwing.

After its services Sunday afternoon, a man threw knives, cracked whips and launched axes into a picture of the devil.

His wife often participated in the stunts by standing in front of his wooden target. She held still while her husband launched various sharp objects seemingly at the woman.

John Bailey is a whip-cracking, knife-throwing minister.

No, really. He is.

Bailey holds a Guinness World Record for speed and accuracy with a whip, hitting 10 targets with a bull whip from 20 feet in 8.04 seconds. He also is in the Knife Throwers Hall of Fame for making a video on how to throw knives in 2004. He’s in as an international teacher.

He’s also a dedicated Christian. He is a licensed evangelist through Starlight Bapitst Church, his home church in Winter Springs, Fla. His unique performance has worked, too.

He estimates 350 people get saved through his ministry each year in the 65-70 shows he performs. He said he normally travels roughly 15,000 to 17,000 miles each year.
