Master Chief and I will plan to come together next year if not sooner, I'm going to make it a point to keep in touch with all the ohana. Its good to be re-connected to the ohana, after all these years and I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks Greg for the correction on the info about the"Showdown" mahalo. I've answered in PM. If you e-mail me a copy of the new flier (at adminteam at fmatalk.com) then I can edit it into the first post here as the correct event flier, if the original poster would like his post modified like that.

Derobio Style - Manolo Explains (http://www.khon2.com/news/local/10185541.html)

"One of the Lost Arts", as referred to by Great Grandmaster Braulio Pedoy, Derobio Escrima is an ancient bladed Escrima style that went underground in response to the Spanish occupation of the Philippines. A no-nonsense bladed art form, Derobio is structured with a bolo (machete) in one's power hand and the other empty. Today, Derobio Escrima has incorporated various styles of fighting within its system, keeping its foundation on its original bladed movements.

Derobio Escrima emphasizes disarming techniques and defensive behaviors rather than aggressive actions. The basis of Derobio is deflecting and controlling. The meeting of force with force is only used if unavoidable and is immediately translated into a more "passive" or fluid movement.

Does anyone have a copy of last years tourney? It would be nice to see the players in action. By the way, some time in Dec, I believe Dec. 8 there will be a tourney in LA held by Master Felix, Pakamut.com (Best of the Best). It would be nice to see the same faces again on the mainland. I spoke to RHC Chaz when I was there and told him about it. Hopefully, there will be representation from Hawaii. Mahalo

I did record but you can contact the producer at the following:

The show is in 3 parts, P2 aired tonight, I believe the 3rd part televises on the 25th.

robertlk808
03-20-2008, 01:29 AM
Ill probably put it on youtube but at least this way you'll have your very own copy and the producer deserves it for his time and effort.

The next showing will be March 25 at 1930 HST.

Episode I (not to be confused with Star Wars) was carrenza
Episode II was padded stick
I believe III will be adult padded stick, live stick and then full contact live stick.

Mahalo Robertk808. Got info back from the producer and I'll be sending my fees for a copy of the dvd. True about having my own copy and the producer getting credit for his work. I just been waiting for a long time to watch our performance.

Looks like this years event will be big. Players from the Philippines will be showing up. Hopefully players from the mainland will support the tourney too. There is a Stockton tourney (ESKCOA Tournament, June 28th, 2008) coming up, planning to support it. Also, another tourney in Sacramento should be happening couple of months later. When more info is avail. I'll put a post on the tournament section.
