BERKELEY COUNTY, West Virginia
An armed robber is hospitalized after employees at a West Virginia pizzeria stabbed him several times.
It all happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Paesano's Pizza.

24-year-old Dwayne McGregor walked in the restaurant with a loaded handgun, demanded money and then hit one of the employees.

Another employee then grabbed a kitchen knife and fought the suspect, cutting him several times.

After McGregor fled the scene, without any money, deputies found him on the road with cuts on his back, leg and forehead.

Officials took McGregor to the hospital where he is being guarded. Deputies are also charging McGregor with armed robbery.

Karate school robbery leaves thief hospitalized (http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hkgDM3fH2YMZ1IlmmajnFJlhE14Q)

A feckless stick-up man chose the wrong target when he was beaten and hospitalized in an attempted robbery of a karate school in Bucaramanga in northwestern Colombia, police said.

"The man entered the academy with a firearm, but could not intimidate the dozens of students, who fortunately reacted and disarmed him," said Colonel Julio Cesar Santoyo, police commander in the province of Santander.

Police arrived at the scene only to take the would-be robber to hospital for treatment of multiple contusions at the hands of the karate students.

A Colombian robber who chose a karate centre as his target was instead handed a trip to the hospital by his would-be victims.

Carlos Estupinan, 21, found the door to the home of the centre open and apparently decided it was the perfect opportunity, police in the eastern town of Bucaramanga said Friday.

Armed with a pistol, Estupinan barely got passed the front door before he was surrounded by a number of karate fighters. The black- belts didn't hesitate, wrestling away his weapon and sending him packing with a beating to the local hospital.Gunman gets chop in karate centre robbery (http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=171543&version=1&template_id=43&parent_id=19)

BOGOTA: A karate academy was not the best target for a robbery, a Colombian thief found when his attempt got the chop from practising students, police said on Friday.

The robber was recovering in a hospital in Santander province north of Bogota after the martial artists used their combat skills and took away his gun.

“An individual entered a martial arts school with a firearm but they managed to react, put their knowledge to use and disarmed him,” Santander police commander Col. Julio Cesar Santoyo told local Caracol radio.
