On the weekend of August 10th, 2007; United Parker’s Kenpo Karate will be once again hosting the:
2nd Annual Pittsburgh Martial Arts Camp
This camp will feature two amazing martial arts masters:
Grandmaster Ciriaco "Cacoy" Canete and Professor Zach Whitson
The legendary Ciriaco "Cacoy" Canete of Cebu Philippines is a prominent, internationally known martial artist who travels the globe to share, teach and demonstrate his martial art skills to others. "Cacoy" Canete is the last surviving member and the only 12th Degree Black Belt and the highest ranking member of the fame Doce Pares Eskrima Club. He started Eskrima at the age of 7 under the oldest of eight, brother "Momoy". Now almost 88 years old, Grandmaster “Cacoy” promotes his art for self-defense, sport, and personal well-being.
Professor Zach Whitson is a nationally known martial artist with thirty one years experience. This experience includes a Mataas na Guro "Master Instructor" rank in the blade art of Pekiti Tirsia Kali, a 7th Degree Black Belt in Ed Parker’s American Kenpo and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Cacoy Doce Pares. Professor Whitson is also the founder of the Counterpoint Tactical System. CTS is a weapon-based, mixed martial art designed for the street with an emphasis on tactical counter offense.
The camp will begin on Saturday, August 11th with a full-day seminar (10am to 5pm) featuring Grandmaster “Cacoy” Canete. The training will then commence on Sunday, August 12th with a full-day seminar (10am to 5pm) featuring Professor Zach Whitson.
The cost of the event is as followed:
$125/ Saturday (Grandmaster “Cacoy” Seminar Only)
$175/ Saturday and Sunday (GM “Cacoy” and Professor Whitson Seminars)
