Pekiti-Tirsia as a fighting system respects all other FMA styles and system as long the teachings are within the structure of truth and decency. To convey the image of the Filipino culture as a martial Arts it projects discipline, integrity, prestige, honor and fedility. This is the true elements what the filipino culture is all about. The truth shall be the image of every instructor, teachers regardless of style or systems.

The best school in terms of Discipline is the BOLO DISCIPLINE, BD trains accuracy and precision . This is the true Pilipino School of Discipline because from the begining, the art of perfection is the top subject where no mistakes , a mistake is a blunder , to get a passing grade , you must score 100% below the top score you will die. The final examination is a test mission to meet the enemy and make a score of 100%. Perfect Discipline is what is needed to claim that you are a practicioner that anything that is said all about FMA cannot be questioned.

Pilipino art is pure Edged Weapon with interpretation to non -weaponry but optional in nature. As a matter of practices regardless the blades design from the Ginunting to Talibong or Parang and kampilan Kirs or barong , the mastery in handling the blade will always ends with accurate result-DOA.

The Bolo Discipline is the inner soul of an FMA true practicioner . The Bolo is the extension of his life, he sleeps, he cradles , he carries it all along his journey wherever he goes and whatever he does. This is the true tradition.

In the Pekiti-Tirsia, our in-depth discipline is to respect others provided they respect us, We love them those who hates,we adore those we believe that they live in an adorable life, we care for those who needs care and we extend concern to those who needs concern and we offer our hands of hospitality those who are less in life. But the bolo discipline is the shield against disrespect, against trouble makers and against blasphemy towards the FMA. We take the oath of allegiance before the altar of our forefathers that anyone that disparage, take advantage of the FMA names, stealers and corruptors shall not be forgiven and we will maintain our position to the very last drop of our blood that we will never forgive them .

We should set an example, we should be the Gentlemen of the FMA. We have been oppressed for more than 330 years, our original Pilipino names were transfered to the animals, our Pilipina women were abused and taken as comfort women, our young children were taught to be non-Plilipino, our land were titled under the name of Queen Isabela of Spain, we have nothing as Pilipino except the BOLO as our only asset and the use of it.This is the fact of the true Pilipino culture.

No one should question what is the bravery of the Pilipinos because even General Douglas Mac Arthur , Commanding General of the war in the Pacific made his last statement while he was delivering his speed before the joint session of the US Senate and US Congress" GENTLEMEN I PROMISED THE PILIPINOS "I SHALL RETURN BECAUSE YOU GIVE ME ONE MILLION PILIPINOS AND I WILL CONQUER THE WORLD" The greatest thing to learn in the FMA Fighting culture is how BRAVERY AND COURAGE be a part of your civilian life. Let us not forget that in the learning process , knowledge must be acquired , with knowledge comes wisdom . The wisdom of courage and bravery is the key to the real success in the learning of the traditional, indigenous FMA. There is no diploma that says you are brave , the diploma is inside of you plastered in your heart and in your bulls.

Pekiti-Tirsia reminds everyone who are living today that we live by performance because we believe in the truth, the truth is Pekiti-Tirsia is hundred per cent pure Pilipino, all the ingredients in terms of techniques have been put into laboratory, tested, proven and it cost lots of lives to perfect one technique.

Here in the Philippines Mandala Rommel Tortal before he became the official Resident Instructor of the Philippine Marine Corps, he was tested in the course of Combat Scuba under the Force Recon Marines, joining the regular force Recon marines who regularly trained was a task leading to dangerous experience.Combat Scuba is a special training where you will swim for 10 kilomerters with hands and feet tied in full battle gear and to navigate under 80 feet of water under the harassment of the Dive Marine Masters. But at the end Mandala Rommel Tortal gained respect from the officers and men of the Force REcon Marine because of his unique bravery and courage present in his bloodline, bloodline of the Tortal's family, among the 40 , he is one of those passed in flying colors including other courses of the Force Recon Marines.

Pekiti-Tirsia always set an example , we don't talk if we cannot do it, we only speak for the truth . Since the art of Kali is a sacred art, above all others we give our highest respect.

As the FMA grows into the greater area of responsibility, we invite those who wants to be purified and make the practice of the FMA a Professional one not a fly by night or title seekers for money, ego searchers and manufacturers of a style. The truth will always the way that lying will have no place in the Pilipino culture.

The greatest thing to learn in the FMA Fighting culture is how BRAVERY AND COURAGE be a part of your civilian life.

I enjoyed reading your post but I especially like this attitude. If you can't take the spirit you learn in the school out into your day-to-day life then you're getting a limited education indeed. It needs to affect you in a much deeper way than that. A martial arts teacher who seeks to only transmit literal technique has set his goals much too low.

I also liked this saying:

" You learn how to teach and you teach how to learn"

There has been some arguments on the methodology of training in the early years of Pekiti-Tirsia in New York City that spreads to other States in forms of seminars and camp training. The foundation of training was so strong that even on cold winter along the Hudson River to the World Trade Exposition Field in Queens New York , to the Oneanta county upstate New York, to the Meadow Parks the hard working Originals had made their life enjoyable having the fun of Pekiti-Tirsia. The in and out of those early students testing the FMA was not a strange thing to me , I know that few will survive. But the most important legacy that I stood until today that I never charge personally a fixed pay for all the originals that studied with me neither I abused their friendship and that is a fact. The person that help a lot in terms of promotion via cable TV and prints is Greg Alland although his mischiefs can be forgiven. Each and every one contributed to the success of Pekiti-Tirsia in New York City up to the day I moved out to Texas. Those who cut their sense of responsibility in terms of training with the direction towards the advancement for higher studies had lost the real ingredients on how the system was being constructed on the strength of higher technology in attaining the secret of Combativeness.

There was nothing wrong with the introduction to the very basic of Pekiti-Tirsia in the early 70's from the Abecedario to 64 attacks and other supportive inserts that composes the direction towards combativeness to the Seguidas means continuity of atttack strikes that makes the Contradas/Recontras and Recontradas as an applied structure of accelerated technology in its basic forms. What has been developed for the ORIGINALS IN NEW YORK CITY AND OTHER STATES OF THE UNITED STATES was constructive foundation that evaluated the learning attitude of each participant towards the silent expression of combativeness. The softening of hardened muscles, the adjustment from stances to footwork ,to oil the joints of a karate oriented students , to re-orient the mentality of each student to new spectrum of understanding and to test the loyalty, devotion and sense of responsibility towards gratitude, honor and dignity.

All those years were the training period that yielded recognition within the community of martial artist. The Originals that contributed to the success of Pekiti-Tirsia can still be honored although each one took a different direction in terms of loyalty and sense of gratitude. No matter what interpretation they will do and apply by making their own names , there is only single reminder " where did you learn".Comes the day that whatever seeds you put to the ground it will grow as it was the same plant. Meaning if you plant ingratitude you will harvest ingratitude , you plant disloyalty you will reap disloyalty, you plant intrigues you harvest more intrigues and most of all , you plant lies the truth will come out that you are a liar.

All that has been in the Pekiti-Tirsia training served as a strong foundation from the 70's to the 80's . These were the nails, the hammer, the roofings, the beams, the cement to be mixed , the wooden materials for walling ,the electrical components that made the Pekiti-Tirsia student adopted to the use of the hammer and hold the nails so the hitting of the nail lands directly into the nails head for the nail to go deeper for the strengthening of the wooden walls. The materials were layed out into different categories preparing everyone to go to the higher spectrum of Pekiti-Tirsia unfortunately some had drifted away with some emotions influenced by the thinking that what they had is already enough to go their own and make a manufactured idea to call their own family style. Some continued to teach as it was, yet still wondering how to construct the house because the opportunity to learn the construction process is not given for being ungrateful, some had stayed even the heaven falls consistent to continue and went farther by staying in the Philippines to study with me and others has to travel every year to the Philippines to continue their progress without mental reservations. The faithfullness and consistency is still present to the many Pekiti-Tirsia Advocates.

Those who went to the other side of the wall has no opportunity to learn the higher advancement technology of Pekiti-Tirsia. The techniques of constructive Combat Engineering , how to structure and set the models understood from the course of functionalibility to operability to non-counterability .

The higher studies is not end to the technology of Pekiti-Tirsia but how to reach to the metaphysical world of the indigenous traditional culture of the Pilipinos so rich with wisdom that opens the floodgates of understanding that the conflict of human existence is not the people, it is the de-culturalization of the peoples will influenced by non-combativeness attitude more influenced by the destruction of the peoples will to survived living in the comfort of laziness and too much dependence to religious belief.

History repeats itself. What do we see today is a complete revival of the past.Back to the love of Edged Weapon. There are more knives and blades than the population of the world as there more guns unaccounted for. There are more people killed by Edged weapon compared to karate punch and Taekwondo kicks and Jui jitsui locks or grappling holds and Aikido throws. Gone are the days that kicks and punch will work as a means of self-defence. What can a lady of 70 pounds do to protect herself against a man 6 footer with 230 lbs heavy. The only solution is a hidden knife in her hands that will pluck the eyes instantly without mental reservations.

The Edged Weapon culture is what is the FMA is all about. If an FMA style or system interprets the Kali art as a Spanish Arnis and Eskrima with the mixture of Japanese, Chinese and Koreans and others, then judging from the elements of true purity of the Ginunting and the TAlibong that the Force Recon Marines presently utilizing against the insurgents in the land of Conflict Mindanao, then there is no doubt that the culturalization process of the weapon edged had established superiority against all odds . As pure as the crystal water of the forbidden valley so as the Edged Weapon culture of the Pilipinos

The Generations of Pekiti-Tirsia from North to South America had made their way to come across to the land of opportunity and stayed to the present with one desire to learn about Pekiti-Tirsia in the highest form of Edged Weapon Education. In Canada to mention specially Guro Loki Jorgensen who came to the Philippines in the 90's to join Mandala Tuhon Philip Gelinas, Marc Denny, Uli Weidle, Timothy Waid and others that will be mentioned on the next thread faithfully experienced the special training on CONTRA TIRSIA DUBLA DOZ and the presence of the Force Recon Marines contingent team of Candidates for Instructorship with the Assistance of Mandala Rommel Tortal made the events highly productive. All had experienced the all out full contact Sparring no holds bar . Today Canada is growing rapidly more to the present organization of Pekiti-Tirsia set by Naptali Provost of Vancouver under the guidance of Guro Loki and his team of Advanced Students. The Pekiti-Tirsia Pitbulls of Sachatchewan under the leadership of Jay Saludo and my Compadre Leon Saludo the father whose efforts to come to the Philippines several times to continually embrace the true ingredients of the true culture. The Team of Advance Students of Jay Saludo are members of the Canadian Mounted Police and individuals whose desire is to embrace the true Pilipino culture. In Toronto, my Grandpa Jun De Leon whose undying loyalty to the Pilipino art expressed in Kali De Leon had gained respect among the community of the Martial arts organization world wide made known in the circle of GRandmasters of many styles. His wife the Princess cannot be questioned as to her skills can cheat you to death.

Mandala Tuhon Philipp Gelinas although his mixture of non-Filipino martial arts made a support for running a school in Montreal but his heart and soul is Pekiti-Tirsia. He is up to the present unchallenged in the stick fighting full contact being the Grandchampion in 1988 at the Grand Opry full contact stick fighting tournament. Still in the course of history of Pekiti-Tirsia many will come out victorious, many will come out a dependent authority of the system but as we say in Pilipino " silent waters runs deep".

There are more who wanted Pekiti-Tirsia in their country and the first to be established is the Pekiti-Tirsia Latin America under Nicolas Wacshmann of Buenos Aries , Argentina . Web site : pekititirsia latinamerica.com. A PROFESSOR in the UNIVERSITY OF Argentina came across the distance of many thousand miles joining the Instructors Candidate course who witnessed and a part of the Instructor team who recieved their certificates from Madam Tinting Cojuanco, President of the Public Safety College of the PNP> joint graduation of the Lateral Entry Police Officers for the first time in his life.

What ever and when ever Pekiti-Tirsia is found , the history of each persons experiences is to his advantage and for the security of the future, it is counted back to the discipline that made life challenging with no second thought of surrender. The challenge of being an Instructor is an honorable position being the spoke person and the extension of the missing strength lost during the oppression of the Pilipino people now revived in the forms of Combative Engineering under the Institution of Unguarded Walls.

Let the message of hope for those who desire to be purified by the blood of our forefathers that the door of Pekiti-Tirsia Unguarded Walls welcomes you with open arms only when YOU swear to be one of the K- 300 Pekiti-Tirsia Elite
