As I recall the study group was started through PT-GO, try contacting Tim Waid through that organization's website to figure out what is going on.

Hey everybody,
Sorry if I haven't been bery responsive. I'm new in Vegas and still trying to get established with my day job and everything. I am still planning on getting the Vegas Pekiti Tirsia group and a Sundanese Pencak Silat group together. If anyone is interested please pm me for my number and we can talk further. Peace.

Hi Doc,
I have trained under Guru Roy Hagan in St. Louis since 1997 (on and off, admittedly), and just returned in November from 18 months in Indonesia where I trained with Bambang Suwanda. So the styles are those you would certainly be familiar with. If all goes according to plan with my starting the Pekiti Tirsia group here in Vegas, I may be traveling to Dallas on occasion, and would love the opportunity to train with you guys out there as well. Take care.

Great!!
Bambang Suwanda is an excellent teacher. I enjoyed training with him when I was out there . I know Roy Hagan and he is a real nice fellow and I like the way he teaches too. So ,will you be teaching Mande Muda in your group as well?
Next time you wander thru Texas drop us a line. There is a lot of Pekiti down here too. Tim Waid is right here in DFW.

Hi Doc,
I am teaching Pencak Silat as it has been taught to me my teachers, which is the Suwanda family system. Bambang is not calling his system Mande Muda for political reasons, but while there may be subtle variations and perhaps a different approach (as there would always be from teacher to teacher anyhow) it is essentially the same.
I am due to to come to Dallas next month..... I'm not sure if I'll have any time or energy outside of my Pekiti Tirsia training, but I would love to do some Silat with you guys. I'll be in touch

Well , It does not matter which Suwanda family member one trains with , it will still be good training and good silat. Sort of a rose by any other name thing.
Perhaps I'll see you at one of the local Pekiti Tersia events.

There is a Filipino martial arts school on sahara and torrey pines. They teach Lameco which has a lot of Pekiti-Tirsia in it.
