Thanks! That's some great follow-through on the roundhouse kick.

Looking at the first clip Master Ferrer seems to do the roundhouse with an almost stiff leg. I see little or no snap or thrust in the kick. Is this correct or just my perception because of the camera angle?
In the cross step video Master Ferrer seems to be doing a snap side kick with the edge of outside edge of his foot, is this always done on an upward angle? Do yo also do a roundhouse with this step motion?

Interesting clips thanks

Thanks for the comments, both.

In the first video, I think it's somewhat the camera angle, and somewhat the kick. Those high roundhouse kicks have no recoil, no snap back in the knee, which is intentional -- think a Cro Cop knockout kick. That kind of follow through. There is an amount of chambering before the kick extends, though.

As for the cross step video, he is actually executing a roundhouse kick, which can be thrown at an upward angle, directly horizontal, or at a downward angle, depending on the target. Both the cross step video and side step video are more to showcase the stepping movement, along with a kick that works well -- however, almost any kick could be used.

Great clips! was it you who upped these to youtube?
Watching the instructional video was awsome, it showed as much accuracy as vic does in class!
