Kaihewalu Lua literaly means "The Art of Dislocation". "Lua" is the ancient martial art of Hawaii. Practicioners of Lua use traditional weapons made from natural materials from the land and sea. Lua has an arsenal of empty hand techniques which are used to draw their opponent into a range in which a submission application is executed. Hawaiian Lua was once considered "Kapu" forbidden because of its combat tested techniques.

I was fortunate to meet Olohe Solomon Kaihewalu at the Tipunan FMA event 2 years ago. And I must say that he is extremely impressive.

From explosiveness and power to gracefulness and a very humble tone, he will certainly provide great insight to the fighting arts of Hawaii. He demonstrated some weaponry use with the oar. I still recall the pain he inflicted on his uke with his no-nonsense approach of this traditional art.
