I want to get some opinion of what you think about about onguard positioning for both defense and offense. I find tha if i use a shorter weapon or the other party is unarmed using the rear hand to hold the weapon like a knife is more effective than using the lead hand. I can easily retain the weapon and clear the way before launching the attack. Almost impossible to disarm. If he use a longer weapon I just wait to counter and when opportunity comes i close in.
When im inside thats it ill be just ripping ang pumping my weapon.
But how about knife to knife or if you use stick agains knife, stick to stick?

In Tirsia both Grand Master Gaje & Tortel & Punong Guro Leonard Trigg
use the tirsa tight for the Labo!
The cut was a great counter for what you talked of!

I find myself using a weapon forward guard for a long weapon and the opposite for a short. I find that people are more inclined to try to grab your knife hand than your stick hand, and I use the live hand to protect my knife. Seems backwards but it works for me so far.

You guys should try and make it to a seminar or something if you want to find out the answers to some of these questions.

Sort of complex after thinking about it.

1. part of it depends on distance to opponent
2. There is no position, you are dynamic, but when out of range you have the weapon lead shoulder out in bladed.. the weapon moves around so there is no static position of legs or arms... So mostly weapon side forward is the answer.
