Aloha,

I just moved to Hawaii a month ago and have been interested in FMA training. Are there any classes/styles that anyone could recommend? I trained in FMA for about 4 years on the mainland and am interested in meeting fellow practitioners. I appreciate your help.

Joe

Welcome to the gathering island (meaning of Oahu). You can check www.pedoysescrima.com (http://www.pedoysescrima.com) this is the school that I attend here in the island.

By the way... what type FMA style you took back in mainland?

Thanks for the info. I'll try to stop by one of the classes soon. I trained in Escrima Serrada in Stockton, CA.

Look at the second post in this thread (http://www.fmatalk.com/showthread.php?t=1116) for another couple of leads. Let us know how it goes!

Howzit darcsyde,
I believe it is safe to say there is some good training out there. You just missed a couple of tournaments with pretty good turnout and displays of skills. Just like Ares stated there is the Derobio system, as well as Villabrille-Largusa, Doce Pares, Mike "DogZilla" Tibbits from the Dog Brothers, Burton Richardson and Im sure there is more that I am forgetting. Check out my site www.islandwarrior.com (http://www.islandwarrior.com), I have some schools listed there. Greg and Ares if you know of any that I forgot about as well as some I dont even know about please let me know so I can list them on the site. As far as my background most of training was received from Datu Kelly Worden, (Modern Arnis Lineage)

Aloha,
Robert
