Hey, I just ordered the Kali Means to scrape doc dvd.. has anyone else purchased this vid? What was your take on it? GOOD, BAD? etc...

I totally love the video! I have the video and I love to watch it over and over again. It just brings me a little closer to home. If you watch it closely, I think there's a lot of things that you can learn from the different lives of the grandmasters, known and unknown alike. There are lessons to learn that dictates the deeper meaning of the art. It's quite interesting indeed, and it's an eye opener for me. I'm sure you or anyone who would watch this video would like it as well.

I just purchased the DVD of "Kali means to scrape" about a month ago and I've been letting my friends borrow it only because I think its one of the better (if not the best) documentary piece out there!! I think its a great piece of material in regards to the FMA as whole. Sure it shows some good stick work, but more importantly it displays the meaning behind it. It reminds us why we practice this art, and what it ultimately means to us a individuals, and as a community of practioners of the Art. The price is nothing compared to what was captured in this video production.
(Now if I could only get the DVD back from my friend in class though...??)

Any documentary on these fighting arts is a must for your collection. It was nice to see some of the lesser known Eskrimadors in Negros. Hopefully more videos will come out paying tribute to Eskrimadors in other provinces. Although I'm not thoroughly sold on some of the practices and believe it was done more for the video. Otherwise, it was fun to watch.
